Some frequently asked questions

How do I get an account?

To sign up for an account, simply click the sign up link and enter a few details. A password will be sent to you in an email. Then you can login and start posting straight away.

How do I add an image next to my posts?

That image is called an avatar. You can create an avatar from any picture on your computer. Go to your profile and click on the 'Avatar' tab. From here you can browse for a picture on your computer and upload it. Currently you cannot delete your avatar; either upload a new picture to replace it or ask an administrator to remove it.

Something doesn't work

This site is still in beta so it's only to be expected that errors or weird anomalies will crop up. If you've found some function that doesn't work right, raise the issue in the support forum or contact an administrator. If you're having trouble and think something could be more intuitive, let me know.

How do I add links and images to my post?

There are a number of standard tags (called BBcodes) that you can use to style the text in your post.

Say, for example, you wanted to add a link to another website in your post. You can use the [url] tag for this. As you're writing, instead of just pasting the link in, add it like this: [url=link to website]name of site[url]

Eg. if we had http://www.google.com and wanted to display it in the post as Google homepage, it would look like this:
[url=http://www.google.com]Google homepage[url]
Note: remember to add the closing tag at the end (in this case [/url]). Otherwise the rest of your text will have that same formatting.
